Sale of Gama Energy to GE Energy
GE Energy Financial Services, the US-based energy investment arm of General Electric Company, has agreed to acquire a 50% stake in Gama Energy, the energy subsidiary of Gama Holding. Gama Energy owns interests in hydroelectric and natural gas-fired power generation assets in Turkiye and Ireland, with an existing portfolio totaling 1,550 MW. The company is also developing a sizeable project pipeline in Turkiye, including 855 MW of renewable energy projects and 1,000 MW of thermal generation projects. GE Energy Financial Services invests across the energy and water sectors globally, supported by GE’s industrial expertise and financial strength. Through the partnership, GE Energy Financial Services gained a platform to expand its energy investment activities in Turkiye and the surrounding region, while Gama Energy strengthened its capital base and strategic positioning for its next phase of growth.
